When you need emergency surgery, you don’t have much time to get your head around things. I love to plan and be organised. I love a list! So, when that time to process is removed, things can feel really stressful.

That’s why I have written a blog for people who have had emergency stoma surgery, rather than the more common topic, planning for stoma surgery. I’ve had surgery resulting in an ostomy three times, and two of those were emergencies. I can tell you from personal experience, that they differ a lot!
