Self-care | Eating and Drinking with IBD

Bridlington today. It was like shade didn't exist. There was nowhere to hide ☀️ ✨️ I would not interfere Today is #WorldIBDDay, and while my feed is constantly flooded with wellness influencers talking about bloating, green juices, and "healing your gut" with bone broth, the reality for millions of us is entirely different. Just an ordinary Saturday 💊 🤣 It's like the sound track of our house 😂 I've been thinking about how my #MentalHealth and my physical body are linked. After years of traditional therapy that didn't help, I've been looking into the research surrounding psychedelic-assisted therapy. I spent a recent Saturday undergoing a small bowel contrast Magnetic Resonance Enterography (MRE), and I wanted to share a quick reality check for anyone else living with #InflammatoryBowelDisease (IBD). These scans are a necessary part of our care, but they can be a lot to handle, both physically and mentally! I had my contrast MRE over a week ago, and I'm still suffering with intestinal cramps! 😫 On the 21st of April, I finally headed to the hospital for an appointment that has been over a year in the making. I was seen by a Registrar, so I immediately felt like I wasn’t being taken seriously. When I was taking a picture of Loki's nap position, my phone thought he was a flower 🌷 This is what 9 days of puppies and little time for anything else looks like 😅 Now they both have names 🙈 I'd like to officially welcome Loki (dapple) and Aragorn (choccy) to the pack 💕
