Research opportunity | Focus group for new stoma device

If you have a stoma and would be interested in participating in a Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) focus group, Leeds Institute of Medical Research want to hear from you.

The purpose of the focus group is to seek feedback from participants about the look and feel of a new device to alert ostomates when their stoma bag is full. The device (StomaBuddy) hangs from the bag and vibrates discretely in the user’s pocket when the bag needs emptying.

They are keen to hear about any improvements you think could be made as well as what benefits you think the device will bring. Travel expenses (if attending in person) will be reimbursed along with an honorarium. They are planning a hybrid meeting to allow for remote attendance.

If this is of interest, please contact Sheila Boyes at s.boyes@leeds.ac.uk for further details.
